Green Coffee Beans – What You Lose When You Brew Roasted Coffee

Coffee is roasted in a process at temperatures up to 500 degrees F and the left in the sun to fully dry for several more days.  This process actually destroys many of the compounds found in natural coffee beans, and concentrate the caffeine content of the beans as well.  It also enhances the flavor of the beans.  Green coffee natural has a lot of antioxidants and compounds which help boost metabolism and decrease appetite, but they’re destroyed during this process.

Researchers have spent a lot of years trying to understand why green coffee is so much better for us, but also how to make use of this in the most effective way possible.  Green coffee cannot be eaten raw very easily, so it needs to be purified and extracted into some compound that preserve these benefits for use by those needing to lose weight.  Researchers have been examining just how to do this now for several years, with multiple studies verifying how well this works.  It’s today, one of the most popular weight loss aids out there.

Green Coffee Bean Extract Weight Loss and Dieting

Recent research has been heavily pro-green coffee and coffee in general, as it offers significant health benefits beyond just weight loss.  For example, a recent Harvard study clearly showed that daily intake of coffee, over 6 cups even, resulted in much lower risks of colon cancer, diabetes and heart disease.  This also benefits a person’s mental performance as well, with productivity increases and much better mood.  People who drink coffee regularly have a much lower risk of developing depression, for example.

Green coffee extract used for weight loss has a particular compound which is lost by the roasting process: chlorogenic acid.  This is the only way for people to obtain this ingredient as it’s not found in any other known fruits or vegetables.  This has the significant benefit of rapid weight loss through metabolism increases which are caused by this compounds interaction with our cells.  Green coffee extract has been shown, due to this compound to inhibit the growth of tumors as well via the same mechanism.  It helps improve kidney liver function as well when regularly taken in.  These are just some of the benefits of green coffee rather than roasted coffee.

Vegetable Polyphenols and Their Effects

Another reason that green coffee helps with weight loss is that it contains a particular kind of polyphenol, which helps keep your cells healthy and also absorbs fat that your take into your body.  Your body processes fat or carbohydrates into lipids.  These compounds actually absorb these lipids and keep them from being absorbed into your body.  They are lost during the roasting process, to they can only be found in green, unroasted coffee beans.

Another type of compound of the same value is tocopherols which contain Vitamin-E.  This is a powerful type of antioxidant that cuts free radicals, a major cause of cancer.  Green coffee has ample supplies of them, but roasted versions do not.  They help destroy lipids as well cutting even more fat from users.  Free radicals also have been linked to most forms of cancer, particular solid formation of cancer in organs.  Regular green coffee intake can significantly reduce this in patients.  Another benefit is that these polyphenols actually reduce the person’s likelihood of developing gallstones or kidney stones.

Coffee has also been linked in several studies to boosting the person’s exercise abilities, primarily with weight training or highly physical activites.  It helps supplement a better diet, as well as lose weight, but does so in more preferable areas of the body than just losing fat all over.  Prior to beginning to use green coffee you would want to talk to a doctor or ensure you can drink it safely and caffeine doesn’t interfere.  Green coffee can be drank, but most of the time it’s given in capsules as in the studies indicated previously.  In a study, 1050mg of GCA (green coffee extract) was consumed each day, and resulted in a weight loss of around 15 pounds per month without needing any changes to the person’s diet whatsoever.

The Use of HCG Diet Drops for Weight Loss Results

It’s clear that for many people, developing weight problems carries with it some adverse effects.  Many health problems are directly related to obesity in patients, such as hyperternsion, heart disease, high cholestorol and many forms of common cancers.  As a result, the fact that more and more Americans become overweight each and every year is a major problem that’s difficult to resolve.  Due to increasing demands from work and our home lives people typically are unable to keep the weight off in the long term.  It’s not easy to maintain this on your own, you need a proven solution that will generate results for you and help you to stay healthy in the long run.  Trying to do this alone will often be fraught with problems and issues.

HCG diet drops are one of the most popular and effective weight loss methods in the world today.  It should come as no surprise to many people that using clinically proven treatments is much better than trying to go through a rigorous diet and exercise program on your own.  HCG is the #1 doctor prescribed and recommended obesity treatment in the world today, and for good reason.  It’s highly effective, can generate rapid results, and even has been shown to cut the risk of chronic disease, such as diabetes.

Purified HCG PowdersHCG is a natural hormone produced by women during pregnancy which helps them lose weight and get in shape quickly.  HCG, which stands for Human Chorionic Gonadotropin, has been studied since the 1950s for its unique weight loss characteristics.  It directly interacts with the brain’s hypothalamus gland, boosting metabolism and decreasing appetite.   In many recent studies, the average person lost 400% more total weight than just by dieting alone, as the impact of HCG is powerful in the patient’s body.  Not only do people lose weight much more quickly than by just trying to diet, it’s much more permanent as well.

Breaking Down the HCG Diet Protocol

The HCG diet protocol is broken down into three phases, each with a specific goal in mind.  During phase one people are loading up on foods for 2 to 3 days to help their bodies more easily burn off fat later (this increases the person’s metabolism more).  Then on phase two a person enters a 500 or 700 calorie per day diet for a period of up to 57 days, depending on which method is chosen.  This is where the bulk of the weight is lost, with 1 to 2 pounds per day being quite typical.  Exercise is not required on this diet, so it really helps people lose weight more than most traditional diet and exercise methods.

Not all HCG diet drops are created equal, rather many are being sold as if they contained the real hormone but do not.  These are commonly referred to as homeopathic or hormone-free products and do not work nearly as well as the real thing.  In order to lose weight at this rapid pace, a person must take in at least 150 IUs of the hormone each day, either via injections or through real HCG drops, for example HCG plus http://hcgdropspure.com. These are the types of products that you need to take in in order to achieve these results, if you go the droplet route rather than injections.  Only real HCG drops actually work, and ensuring that’s what you’re buying is important for success.

There are many other advantages to using HCG to lose weight, that go far beyond just cutting out some unwanted fat.  People lose fat in a really desirable way when taking HCG.  Rather than losing it from all over their body at the same time, HCG preferentially burns fat that’s right below the skin.  This has the added advantage of tightening up the skin of the person doing so.  This can make all the difference when losing weight, as HCG prevents your body from having “saggy” skin once you hit your goal.  Rather you have together skin than with any other dieting method due to the way HCG burns away stored fat.

Garcinia Cambogia – A New Weight Loss Treatment Showing Great Promise

Maintaining a healthy body indefinitely is never an easy task. It requires diligence, commitment and perseverance. Just because it’s not easy, doesn’t mean it’s not possible. However, for the vast majority of those that try, they will ultimately not keep the weight they lose off permanently or even more than a full year. There are many ways to help ensure that you do succeed, but the best way is to employ a method that utilizes a proven weight loss aid. Though there are many supplements out there that claim to work, very few actually have been clinically proven in studies to do so. It’s important to find solutions that have strong research backing for their use in helping people lose weight.

It’s likely that you may have already heard about garcinia cambogia, either from friends, family or the media. This is a natural fruit that’s grown in Africa and has been used for centuries to increase energy and absorb unwanted fat people take into their diets. This fruit has a compound called Hydroxycitric acid, which has only been found in this particular fruit. Studies clearly show that people who take in this compound regularly experience significant increases in metabolic function and decreased appetite. The exact mechanism for this is still somewhat unknown but it’s thought to be a cellular signal to your body to increase fat burning to compensate for energy that’s needed.

How Garcinia Cambogia Can Be Used for Weight Loss

Fresh Growing Garcinia CambogiaA lot of new studies have been examining the impact that garcinia has on the individual’s body, but how does it hold up over time? New research conducted in 2012 shows that someone who is using garcinica cambogia extract regularly will not only lose 2 to 3 times more weight than someone just dieting, but also will keep it off for much longer. After one year, those who tried to diet on their own and lost weight had a poor success rate (around 5%) at keeping the weight off. While those using this extract had a 25% success rate instead. Clearly there is something different about this method.

Garcinia has been recommended more than any other treatment of late by both doctors and researchers to help patients lose weight. It’s easy to see why this is the case, as the results are staggering. Most people who use the treatment will lose 10 to 15 pounds per month without changing their diet at all. If someone switches to a more natural diet method they will often lose much much more as well.

Let’s say a person goes on garcinia cambogia, with an HCA supply of at least 60%, and uses it for several months. On average this person would lose 60 to 70 pounds of fat over such a period of time. They can then stop taking the compound at all and just stick with a more natural diet (fruits, vegetables and unprocessed meats like steaks, chicken or fish) . After this effort, such a person would be able to sustain this weight lost indefinitely, even eating over 2000 calories per day. There are very few treatments who can offer this level of success (maybe the HCG diet or a few other proven methods). Not only that, but this treatment has been proven to work in dozens of clinical trials so far. It really is a great option for those looking to lose weight and keep it off.

How Small Changes Can Impact Your Weight Loss Success

People don’t realize just how small changes can really impact their waistline.  Something like eating a single extra biscuit a week can lead to five pounds of weight gain in a single year.  So if you were to eliminate something that simple, you could shed five pounds instead.  Another example is dropping cola and going to something that uses stevia sweeteners instead.  Not only will the taste remain the same, but this can easily cut out 500 or 600 calories per day depending how much soda you drink.  You hear stories all the time about people who eliminated soda from their diet and all the sudden were down 15 pounds before they knew it.

You need to select a weight loss method that isn’t going to just generate a bunch of fast results, which you cannot sustain forever.  Anything that requires you to make huge changes to your diet without a strategy on how to keep the weight off permanently isn’t going to be a good thing.  For example, the Atkins diet eliminates carbs to help you lose weight, but you cannot keep from eating carbs indefinitely.  You need them as part of your diet, so switching over to a more natural diet after you lose the weight is important.  Establishing a strategy to work in the long term is important.

Simple Things to Keep in Mind To Succeed

Organic Weight Loss ShakesThere are many factors which impact your ultimate success losing weight on any method.  However, people don’t often consider that they may experience problems losing weight due to factors they can control themselves.  There are several simple things you can keep in mind to improve your chances of success.

  1. Be Patient – Don’t expect miracles in a short period of time.  Even if you are using a highly effective treatment like HCG, you won’t necessarily achieve your ultimate goals overnight.  Slow and steady wins the race, and this is particularly true with weight loss.
  2. Eating foods like fish, nuts and other natural ingredients that contain fat actually can be healthy.  Cutting out all fat is not good for you anymore than cutting out all of any other vitamin or mineral our body needs.  You want to eat foods that are more natural and healthy, without heavily processed ingredients.  This is more important than the actual content of the foods themselves.
  3. Steam and boil your food if possible.  Avoid making things in a pan on the stove, or pay frying anything even if you don’t add oils.  The fats from the food won’t be able to drain away and it will only condense even further.  It will also burn off a lot of the nature waters in the food which help you to feel full
  4. Avoid becoming discouraged if you don’t see results in the speed you expected.  One of the biggest factors people need to overcome is often their own expectations.  Everyone wants to succeed overnight, but real success takes time and diligence.
  5. Reduce alcohol consumption.  Though it’s good to drink a glass of red wine each day due to many life extending benefits that it offers, doing too much alcohol is just empty calories.  Many people will gain weight quickly through too much alcohol consumption alone.

If you go on a crash diet or skip meals regularly what happens is that your metabolism slows down considerably to compensate.  This can be a huge problem when you do eat, as you will be more hungry, you will eat more, and you will achieve less fat burning as a result.  If your body thinks it’s going without food for awhile, your metabolism will drop rapidly.  This is what products like HCG try to prevent, but if you are just dieting this won’t be prevented at all.  Regular meals are very important for weight loss.

Leaving On A Trip Of A Lifetime

We are t-minus 60 days until I leave for the greatest adventure of my life. In 62 days, I will be leaving the U.S. for the very first time and embarking on a journey to Guayaquil, Ecuador.

Holy. Moly.

Coast of Ecuador

I feel completely unprepared and unequipped, but at the same time, I feel completely ready to go. How is that possible?

I have my passport.

I felt like a real live grown up when it came in the mail. I even called my mom out of pure excitement. My husband looked at me like I was insane.

I know most people wouldn’t think a passport is a big deal, but I grew up in Moweaqua, Illinois, people. It’s a small town and I still hold on to that small town mentality.

I got all of my immunizations.

That hurt. I had to get a tetanus shot and vaccines for Hep A, Hep B and Typhoid. Thankfully, the Typhoid vaccine is just a pill. The others, however, are shots (duh).

Now, when the nurse says, “The tetanus is going to hurt pretty bad, so do you want it in a different arm than the other two?” The natural reaction would be, “Yes, please.”

My reaction? If my arm is going to hurt anyway, why not get it over with and put them all in the same one? At least then I will have one fully functional arm.

Brilliant.

So, for the last three days, I have not been able to lift my left arm above a 15° angle. To add insult to injury, I was sick as a dog all weekend (fever, body aches, nausea, and general unpleasantness) because I apparently got every side effect the immunizations offered.

I am being a general pain in the rear to the trip organizers.

I have emailed them with every little question I can think of and probably some that I haven’t even thought of yet. I hate feeling unprepared and even though we have 62 days until we’re on our way, I want itineraries, a list of who’s going with me and so on and so forth.

I’m a psycho. I know.

I am reading the letters from my sponsored child over and over again.

I’ve been lucky in this regard. I have received three letters from my sponsored child this year. The requirement is that the child only has to send two letters to the sponsor, so to know that the center in Manta, Ecuador is taking such care with their children that I should get three letters in just seven months warms my heart.

I can’t wait to meet these wonderful people who are helping Jaleska to grow in Christ and in herself into the young lady she is meant to be. I can’t wait to see her sweet little face. Mostly, though (and this might be weird), I can’t wait to meet her mother.

Oh, please let me meet her mother!

From the letters I have received from Jaleska and her tutor, her mother Liliana sounds like a wonderful woman. As a matter of fact, I hope I get to meet her entire family. I want to hug each and every one of them. I want to get to know them so that I can not only send small little gifts to Jaleska, but also to her siblings and parents.

~*~*~

To be honest, I’m scared to death. But in the most excited and wonderful sort of way. I’m scared to be doing something so huge on my own (there will be others in the group, but since I don’t know who they are, I am on my own for now), but I’m so excited to be doing it at all.

I’m sure this won’t be the last of it you hear from me. I can’t wait!

Getting My Weight Loss Back Into High Gear

I know I haven’t been updating much on my weight loss journey, but I have not given up. I definitely fell off the wagon for a few weeks, but I’ve picked myself up with a renewed enthusiasm and a brand spaking new plan of attack.

    • Motivation – First off, I grew somewhat bored with my weight loss attempt and just didn’t care. I was accountable (truly) to no one. However, my department at work started a fat loss challenge and we are all highly competitive. We weight in every week and then measure our BMI and Body Fat with our new Fat Loss Monitor. We all put $10 into a piggy bank and there are consequences for failure. For every tenth of a percent of body fat gained, we are fined 25¢. There is some major sabotage going on (which is completely allowed), but mostly we are all having fun and really putting our effort into it. At the end, whoever loses the highest % of body fat wins the pot ($50). The entire department (all 4 of us) is involved, so it’s definitely fun and they are holding me accountable for every choice.
    •  Pilates Stretch ExerciseExercise – I have always slacked off in the exercise department. Lucky for me, I recently received the full set of Fusion Pilates DVDs for review and I am now starting to implement them into my routine. There are four DVDs included: Triple Threat (to prepare your body for pregnancy and maintain your body afterward), Fusion Pilates for Pregnancy, Post-Pregnancy and C-Section Recovery and Exercising with Baby. Since I am not pregnant and haven’t been for over three years, I’m using the Triple Threat to whip me into shape. Last night, I went through the entire DVD without even realizing it was over an hour long. I worked up a crazy sweat and felt amazing afterward. I haven’t had a good workout like that in a long time, so it was awesome to really push my body to its limits. I’ll keep using this DVD as a part of my exercise plan and update you in a few weeks. I’m also walking at least a mile every day during the week, so that adds a good 20 minute workout to my routine.
  • Diet – I am currently on a calorie-reduced diet. I’m trying to eat no more than 1,500 calories a day and make those calories really count. I am cutting out snacking entirely and no more bedtime bowls of cereal. I’ve got to get my thinking back in line and build a healthy relationship with food or I am never going to be successful in losing this weight and keeping it off. The cycle has to change, so over the next 60 days or so, I’m going radical on it. I’m eating more proteins and veggies than I normally do and much less processed food. No more “fillers” in my diet. If I’m going to eat it, it’s going to matter and do something good for my body. I’m also making sure to drink at least 64 ounces of water each day, but it’s turning out to be a lot more than that because I’m finding myself constantly thirsty.
  • Supplementation – I needed a kick-start to my weight loss to keep me motivated and show me that it’s not impossible. On a whim, I was walking around BJ’s the other day thinking about getting something like a protein shake or supplements and I came across Pro Clinical Hydroxycut. So, I’m going to try it out and see how it goes. My first day on it was Monday and I felt great all day and I’m feeling great today, too, so I think it’s going to be good. It’s got an awful lot of caffeine in it so it leaves me feeling a wee bit jittery, but no more than a bottle of Pepsi might make me feel. I take them about 30 minutes before each meal, continue on my calorie-reduced diet and drinks lots of water. The exercise is a boost, too.

So far, I’ve seen a little bit of a result. Through our weight loss challenge at work, we’re tracking our % of body fat and BMI. My body fat percentage has dropped from 34.5% down to 33.7% in the past 7 days (before Hydroxycut or any exercise) and my BMI has gone from 28.9 to 28.8. I know it’s a minimal change, but I’ll take anything at this point. Now that I’ve added in exercise and Hydroxycut, I think I’ll start seeing some pretty awesome results.

My Latest Cinchspiration Update – Check Out These Numbers!

You know, I kept telling myself that I was failing because I was eating more often. But, what I’m realizing is that it’s not how much I’m eating – it’s what I’m eating that’s making a difference. I still have my moments of weakness where I’ll break down and have an extra snack, but I haven’t been pigging out on every single sweet that crosses my path.

My mind has changed and it’s a strange sensation. The other day I was at Publix – surrounded by a ton of junk food and sugar – and I needed a snack. Much to my surprise, I found myself in the produce section looking for a quick snack. I ended up with a little prepared snack pack of apple slices and grapes. Instead of going down the candy aisle and picking up circus peanuts and gummy worms, I bought fruit.

Healthy Natural Foods for Dieting

My tastes are changing and I’m now seeking out healthy food.

Now, I want to be clear. I have not become a health nut all of a sudden. I have still had my fair share of Diet Cokes in the past few weeks and I still struggle to pass up soda in social settings. It seems soda is my one vice that is going to be the hardest habit to kick.

Let’s check on my weight, shall we?

Measurements

Start Month 1 Month 2 Month 3
Weight 157.2 152.4 148.8 147.4
BMI 25.3 24.6 24.0 23.8

I’m currently one week into Month 3 of this Shaklee Cinch Inch Loss journey and I’m down 1.4 pounds so far. Just being in the 140s has been such a sweet victory for me. I thought I would never get out of the 150s and I thought I would never get out of a size 14. However, I will need to go shopping next week because my pants are literally falling off of me at every turn. I’m very nervous to see what size I end up needing when I go next week. I’ll be sure to keep you posted.

Since my last update I haven’t posted much about the journey to lose this weight.  I’ve been struggling with ups and downs as various “family gatherings” or other things pull me different directions.  It hasn’t been remotely easy, but so far the progress I’ve made has made me really happy.  Being below 150 was my original goal, so it’s great.  I’m down to a size 12 and aiming for a final result of a size 8 or below.  This is going to be a huge challenge.

I’m starting to feel more energetic and the foods I eat are now a lot healthier than they were originally.  I’ve gotten rid of a lot of the processed foods that I was eating before, and I think this has made the biggest impact.  When I cut out soda and other things I was eating each day, it really made a big difference for me.  This was my realization that I wasn’t doing things properly before and that I needed to step up my game a bit.  Cutting out all that nasty processed food is what really made the difference in the end.  That was the missing piece for me.

Mamavation Monday: Getting Back on Track

First off, let me invite each and every one of you to join Mamavation TV tonight as we act like teenagers and are joined by Corinne Dobbas, MS, RD, a leading nutrition counselor, writer, and speaker and trusted nutrition source for the media. She will be talking with us about plateaus and how to overcome them.

Best Ways to Stay Motivated

Last week, I was sick and absolutely fell off every wagon I was close to. I didn’t get to the gym (because I couldn’t breathe) and I didn’t even attempt to eat right. This week, I’m back in the land of the living and it’s time to stop making excuses and get back on the weight loss wagon.

Weekly Goals

  • Drink at least 64 ounces of water each day – This has been an area I’ve always struggled in. It’s not hard, it just takes some work for me since I like soda so much more than water (ha!).
  • Get to the gym at least 3 times this week – My hubby will be joining me Monday, Wednesday and Friday, so I should be okay on this one. I want to get there even more, but I’ll set my goals realistically.
  • Run the Social Fabric 5K on May 11th and the Race for the Cure 5K on May 12th (!!!).
These aren’t hard goals (except for the 5Ks), but they are hard for me so it’s going to take a lot of willpower to meet each of them.

Challenges

  • Sickness – I’m still not 100% but I’m getting there. It’s just a cold and allergies, so hopefully I’ll be able to fight through it. I tend to make excuses when I’m even the slightest bit under the weather and that’s not acceptable.
  • Myself – I tend to self-sabotage. It’s what I do. I’ve got to get out of my own head and just stop it.

Triumphs

I’m not claiming any triumphs this week. I did everything in my power to put myself off track and I don’t feel good about any of my choices in the past week.

Weekly Weigh-In

Starting Weight: 176.2 lbs

Current Weight: 161.6 lbs

Weekly Loss: +3.6 lbs

Total Loss: 14.6 lbs

Goal Weight: 154 lbs

You’re seeing that right. I gained 3.6 pounds last week. I’m not proud of it, but if I don’t put it out there and admit it, I’ll never fix it. I ate everything I could get my hands on while I was sick and this is what happens. I’m going to admit it, move on and make an insane effort this week to drop all of those pounds before my next weigh-in.

I’m really hopeful, I feel like I’m making some serious progress in general despite my failings this week.  So far I’m down over 14 pounds which is great, and it’s been a mostly healthy road.  The goal is in site, but with my gain it’s going to be doubly difficult.  I’m staying more motivated than I ever have been before though, and I think amazing things are going to happen going forward.  I’m exercising more, and just got back from a run this afternoon.  I feel great, and I can just feel me losing the pounds that I put on last week.

What are your biggest weight loss challenges?

Homemade Chicken Tostadas – Delicious Recipe I Tried

You know what I love? Not paying for shipping or delivery charges. Luckily, I’ve got a ShopRunner membership that I snagged last year. That little membership gets me unlimited free two-day shipping from tons of online retailers. What I didn’t realize when I got the membership, however, is that I can also get free delivery from Domino’s!

I know it sounds like something so negligible, but something just gets me about paying to have pizza delivered to me and then having to pay a tip to the driver on top of that because they don’t get any of the delivery charges. I know it’s silly – just let me be! It doesn’t matter, of course, since I have ShopRunner and get free delivery now.

Over the past several months of my New Year, New You adventure, I have discovered some new recipes that I never would have thought I liked, but I actually LOVE them! This is one of my (and my husband’s!) favorites. It started out as a Chicken Tostada, but I had trouble eating it without making a humongous mess, so I turned it into a tostada salad – A Chicken Tostada!

Ingredients

  • Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts (cubed or bite-size pieces)
  • 7-inch Whole Wheat Tortillas
  • Black Beans (canned, rinsed and drained)
  • Whole Kernel Corn (frozen)
  • Vegetable Oil
  • Non Stick Cooking Spray
  • Red Gold Tomato & Green Chiles (canned)
  • Shredded Lettuce
  • Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • Sour Cream
  • Fajita Seasoning

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 400°. Place your tortillas on a cookie sheet and coat both sides with the cooking spray. Bake for about 10 minutes or until they start to crisp up. You’ll notice they get nice and puffy, too. {Traditionally tostadas are fried – we just cut a bunch of fat out!)
  2. In a non-stick skillet coated in cooking spray, cook your corn (still frozen) until you start to see it browning. Don’t let it sit too long or it will burn! Just keep the corn moving and let it brown up real pretty. Remove the corn from the skillet and set it aside in a bowl.
  3. Put about 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil in the pan and let it heat up. Put in your chicken (4 ounces per serving) and fajita seasoning to taste {I made my own fajita seasoning using chili powder, paprika, a crushed chicken bouillon cube, onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, red pepper flakes and cumin – check out this fajita seasoning recipe for the proportions).
  4. Once the chicken is cooked through, add the corn back in, along with the beans and the Red Gold Diced Tomatoes and Green Chiles (drained) and let it heat through.
  5. Now that you have nice crispy tortillas and a yummy chicken mixture, put them all together however you’d like. I tend to put my tortilla in a bowl and then put the chicken mixture on top and then just mix it all together (the tortilla will break up really easily at this point).
  6. Top with 1 tablespoon of sour cream and 2 tablespoons of shredded cheddar cheese and voila! You’ve got yourself a Chicken Tostada!

Don’t mind this picture. I made this on a whim and didn’t have frozen corn or lettuce on hand, so I threw in some green pepper for tastiness!
