Dear Bloggers,
I just wanted to write a quick little note to tell you how much I love you all. I see a lot of drama throughout the “blogosphere” but I have been lucky enough to have never gotten involved with those kinds of bloggers. The blogging community I have found is full of amazing people who are entirely gracious, supportive and giving.
Bloggers are Gracious
I have known some amazingly successful bloggers – they are the creme de la creme as far as I (and many others) am concerned. When they get amazing opportunities that pay thousands or give them tons of exposure, it never fails – They. Are. Shocked. They don’t think they “deserve” these opportunities over other bloggers. They are proud that their hard work is paying off, but they are never prideful and gloating when it happens. They are humbled and entirely too gracious.
Bloggers are Supportive
Yes, I know there are some bloggers who have written some scathing posts about how much they “hate” other bloggers or how they do things. I, however, have been lucky enough to have found a community of bloggers that I consider my friends and they have all been incredibly supportive of my endeavors and each other. Being excited about your latest opportunity or brand relationship is encouraged. Growing your stats is applauded. Anything other than support is immediately nipped in the bud and stopped dead in its tracks.
Bloggers are Giving
Without the amazing bloggers that I have met in the past two years, I would not have half of the brand relationships I have. I would not have a fraction of the income I have been able to bring in. And I would not have been able to learn so much. They are not only generous with their knowledge and pitches, but they are equally generous with their pocketbooks (or, in this case, PayPal accounts). When a friend is need, the troops rally and come together like no other community I have ever seen. We take care of our own, for sure.
I don’t know about the entire blogosphere, but the bloggers that I know are all of these things and so much more. They work incredibly hard and make amazing things happen, yet the friendships and relationships that are built are some of the strongest I’ve ever seen.
Love,
Lindsay

I echo your sentiments Lindsay, and I agree you are one of those wonderful bloggers you just described. I really appreciated your referral to JP. He is wonderful and so nice! I will have my blog moved to WordPress next week and am so excited.
I am lucky to have not met any jealous or petty bloggers. Everyone I have met is so supportive and friendly. I have made some good friends via the net, and connected with lots of moms like myself. I love being able to share information to help others. The more we support each other, the better for everyone. There are plenty of opportunities for everyone.

Nicely written! If there was one thing to change in the blogging it world, it would be to see that uplifting each other is way more helpful than beating each other over the head with opinions on what someone else does in their blog space!
Thanks for the friendship and help you have give me!!

I love this post…and how refreshing to see something positive! I agree – we have a pretty amazing group, where we encourage and are genuinely happy for each other. I think that is the way it should be. Why not help?
It is amazing to me to see us band together to help friends in need too. I am always astonished at how giving bloggers are.
You are one of the friendliest bloggers I have “met” and thank you for putting a great big smile on my face today

Most of the time, I only see the positive side of blogging. Every once in a while the ugliness pops up. For me, blogging is a huge part of my life. I love it!

I LOVE the group of online friends I have in bloggers and I also love the community we have in Chicago of bloggers. I totally agree one hundred percent. If you make actual connections with other bloggers they are willing to share anything with you. I think anytime you have such a large pool of people, you’ll have some bad seeds but honestly in the last year and half that I’ve been actively a part of blogging communities I’ve found very few people I haven’t LOVED getting to know!!!

It was nice to read this as I’ve been reading a lot of posts and tweets recently that are really negative about the blogging community. Obviously there are going to be disagreements, misunderstandings and bad feelings – bloggers are human, after all. But I agree with you Lindsay, we need to concentrate on supporting and helping one another. I’ve only been blogging for a few months, but so far my experience has been overwhelmingly positive, and I’ve met some really lovely people.

I love your post, it’s so positive and it shows how wonderful bloggers can be and have been. I’ve been lucky to be in touch with so many wonderful bloggers, I would’t have known where to start if it hadn’t been for the help, encouragement and advice of some of these wonderful bloggers. When I first started out only a few months ago I had contacted some bloggers (not knowing any) who looked like they had big followings etc.. to ask for advice for a newbie. I did not hear back from those ones at all, it could be that I asked about mentioning my blog but I only asked if this was possible not knowing what could or could not be asked. Now I don’t worry about that I ask and people can say yes or no. I offer free shout outs on my blog for fellow bloggers and small business owners as I feel we really have to support each other, it’s not a competition. So glad to see this post and see yet another positive, helpful & wonderful blogger. Thanks for sharing this it’s uplifting.

Oh, Lindsay, your words were spot on! We SHOULD be supporting each other. It’s awesome that you have a positive, supportive group of people around you, and I love that I do, too. I wish that for every blogger!
