About this time last year, we completed our home makeover with BEHRby painting several rooms inside our new home to really make itours. Last month, we took that makeover a step further and used BEHR paint and a painting contractor we found on Redbeaconto make over the outside of our home, as well!
We loved our home when we moved in (and still do) but it did need some work. We have cedar siding and there were some pieces that needed replacing, as well as a few places where the wood around the gutters was rotting. Our contractor replaced all of that, did all of their other prep work and then set to work painting.
The Hubby and I had decided that we didn’t want to just “repaint” the house in the same colors that we already had. If we were going to go through the trouble to paint, we wanted a change! We looked at a lot of colors and were thisclose to going with a deep dark red.
Our painter was really awesome and worked with us on the color scheme and agreed with my husband’s thought that the red would likely fade a lot faster than a lighter color.
In the end, we went with BEHR Premium Plus Ultra exterior paint in a beautiful color called False Cypress, with an accent on the front in an awesome color called Baja and the trim done in Antique White.
I thought it would take longer to paint our entire house, but since BEHR Premium Plus Ultra only requires one coat in most cases, it was a very quick process. The work crew was only here about three days when all was said and done.
In the end, I amso pleased with how the house turned out. It’sgorgeous and definitely a change from what we had.
